Indonesian shadow puppets
~ Auction Item Preview ~
Two one-foot-tall Balinese shadow puppets for display or for your very own production of the Ramayana, the classic Hindu folk-tale of Prince Rama and Princess Sita. Shadow puppetry is a thousand-year-old tradition in Bali. These two puppets have a kingly and slightly sinister look to them – perhaps they represent the evil Ravana or the monkey-king Hanuman. These puppets are made of painted and lacquered leather and have controlling rods made of bird feather quills.
